What is Cache Memory?

As the microprocessor processes data, it looks first in the cache memory; if it finds the instructions there, it does not have to do a more time-consuming search reading of data from larger memory or other data storage devices.

Cache is usually located within the CPU or on a separate integrated circuit on the motherboard.

It is essential that when you purchase a PC you need to ensure your PC has enough cache memory in order for the CPU to receive fast instructions and avoidable delays.
